F-2 Series ultra-flat load cells are designed to accurately detect the resultant forces generated by web material tension on a roller, then send a corresponding signal so the tension controller can adjust accordingly. The load cells use known winding angles to ensure proper feedback. These flat load cells are ideal for applications requiring low to medium tension, such as in offset printing, digital printing, narrow web printing, label printing and laminating machines.

With their ultra-slim design, F-2 load cells provide reliable and precise web tension control while occupying minimal space. These load cells feature a flexible mounting system which simplifies installation and allows easy integration in any unwinding, rewinding or intermediate tension zone process. With a load range from 11.2 lb-force (50 N) to 112 lbs-force (500 N), they are perfect for low to medium tension applications.

When integrated in a web tension regulation circuit, the F-2 load cells detect the mechanical signal and transform it into a voltage signal, which is amplified by an amplifier and sent to a tension controller. The regulator processes the signal and manages the brake to achieve optimum torque. This type of tension control system improves process efficiency and reduces waste.
