"CF" Flange Load Cells

“CF” Series flange load cells (flange-mounted load cells) are the most common type of load cell used in web processing applications. They are mounted at the end of a dead shaft roller, and precisely detect forces generated by pulling the material over the roller at known winding angles. The load cell translates this force into an electrical signal which is sent to a tension controller. These load cells can be used in any unwinding, rewinding, or intermediate web process.

Because of their compact design, CF load cells can easily be installed in tight spaces. Each unit features an integrated mechanical stop that safeguards against overloads, guaranteeing extended service life and stable performance.

CF flange load cells use strain gauge technology arranged in a Wheatstone bridge configuration. They convert mechanical deflection into an electrical signal, which can then be amplified for precise, real-time tension monitoring.

CF flange load cells are available in various models and load capacities, ranging from 56 to 5,620 lbs-force (50 N to 25,000 N), to cover a wide array of application requirements. Special versions, CF.85 IP50 (for dusty environments) and CF.85 IP54 (splash resistant), are also available. When high temperatures or other extreme conditions are involved, we can customize these load cells with non-standard machining and surface treatments
