Block Foot-Mount Load Cells – CB Series

“CB” Series block foot-mount load cells measure web tension in heavyweight and aggressive applications. They are foot-mounted and can be used in any unwind, rewind, or intermediate tension zone process. Block load cells provide unmatched stability, so they maintain precision in challenging environments with heavy mechanical loads, vibrations, and potential overloads. Their capacity ranges from 33.7 lbs-force (150 N) to 6,745 lbs-force (30,000 N).

CB load cells are made with aluminum or steel depending on application requirements. The built-in foot-mounted bearing support simplifies installation and maintenance. They are often applied in paper mills.

When integrated in a web tension control circuit, the CB series block load cells detect real-time web tension on the roller, which is then amplified and relayed to a tension controller. The controller processes these signals, then adjusts brake torque as needed to constantly maintain the desired web tension. Consistent web tension minimizes material waste.
