MX 16.3 pneumatic mechanical lug-style shaftless core chucks are shaftless core holders for unwinding and rewinding wound rolls of material. The chuck is similar to our PneumoGrip series chucks, but is intended for lighter duty applications. Because of the reduced load carrying capacity, it is a less expensive option for moderate applications. The chuck features a pneumatic mechanism that uses air pressure to expand the lugs. The lugs deliver a secure grip while centering the roll.

The MX 16.3 pneumatic core chuck can be used on any roll stand, new or old. Retrofitting does not require complex modifications, so it is easy to replace outdated or failing chucks. The mounting flange can be customized so it becomes an easy plug-and-play replacement.

The base MX chuck is designed to be used with 3-inch cores. AX adapters slide over the base chuck to allow it to be used with 4-inch, 5-inch, and/or 6-inch cores. Switching among various sized adapters is a quick and easy process, and is done without removing the base chuck from the machine, and without any disassembly.
