The PneumoGrip pneumatic mechanical core chuck is an air-activated positive grip core holding device. It is used on the unwind or rewind of web processing machines. The chuck delivers continuous core grip so it is ideal for applications where torque-activated chucks can’t be used because of variations in torque.

Air pressure expands the chuck’s jaws to grip the inner diameter of the core, ensuring a secure grip and precise centering of the roll. The PneumoGrip pneumatic core chuck can easily be installed on any roll stand, whether new or existing. Retrofits can be accomplished without the need for complex machine modifications, as the mounting flange can be customized to fit existing conditions.

The chuck is durable, flexible, and ideal for applications requiring effective roll locking, even for large and heavy rolls.

It is available in single-diameter, double-diameter (step chuck), or modular versions with adapters. This flexibility allows the pneumatic mechanical core chuck to work with multiple core diameters in different ways. The PneumoGrip series is available for core diameters ranging from 70 mm to 12” and can handle loads up to 9,000 lbs (per chuck).
