The CPF load cell sensor roller is a unique combination load cell and roller specifically designed for cantilevered web applications. The sensor roller is equipped with two internal double-lamina load cells to deliver highly accurate load measurements. It can be supplied in various lengths to suit different web widths, but guarantees precision regardless of where the web is positioned on the roller. Additionally, the roller’s own weight does not affect the measurement, guaranteeing stable and continuous web tension detection.

The CPF sensor roller is quick and easy to install. It mounts on one side using the four holes on the provided mounting flange. The connector can be placed inside or outside the machine frame, offering maximum flexibility for integration into existing systems.

For easy use and calibration, an optional version includes an integrated amplifier and a display on the front of the roller. The display provides direct readouts of tension data so operators can always see the tension value.

The roller itself is made of aluminum, making it light for easy handling and installation, but durable for ongoing use. With load capacities ranging from 11.2 lbs-force (50 N) to 157.4 lbs-force (700 N), and available diameters of 84 mm or 100 mm, the CPF sensor roller meets the needs of many narrow web applications.

Once incorporated into a closed-loop tension regulation system, the CPF roller’s electrical signal, if necessary, is transmitted to a load cell amplifier or tension controller. The controller then adjusts brake torque accordingly to maintain optimal web tension levels.
