Combiflex "CX" Pneumatic Caliper Brakes

Re USA CX Caliper Brakes and CX Nano Caliper Brakes

Combiflex pneumatic caliper brakes provide a versatile, modular solution for web processing applications that require small to medium range braking torque requirements. This single caliper design is also ideal for quick stop (or emergency stop) applications. Equipped with asbestos-free pads, they help maintain a safer, more sustainable work environment by minimizing harmful emissions. They mount easily and are often used with our “PX” series discs (rotors). These discs can be made in various thicknesses.

The modular design of CX calipers allow them to be used alone, or in series, to achieve the required torque. This configuration also enables the individual activation or deactivation of each caliper because they can be supplied with manual on/off slider valves. This capability means more flexibility when adjusting torque to match changing material characteristics.

Various versions are available. For more demanding stop scenarios, negative (spring-applied) versions provide even stronger braking torque. For applications involving light materials or narrow webs, reduced-torque calipers are the perfect solution. These calipers come in four levels (10%, 16%, or 40% of standard) of torque capacity. This precise control guarantees optimal tension management, even when processing delicate web materials.

The CX-NANO model, a miniature version of the CX caliper, is engineered to deliver high braking torque in tight spaces.

All of our pneumatic caliper brakes are designed for superior web tension control, ensuring optimal performance in printing, converting, packaging, and other industrial processes.
